No I am not making this up it is a real product!   I first saw it on Engrish.com and had to google it to see for myself.    amazon.co.jp sells the pills but their page is boring  this site has a much louder ad.   I don’t know what else to say its simply one of the strangest things I have ever heard of here!

Wow, the mind boggles. I haven’t had time to read through the product documentation to see why it would be called such a thing, but I’ll have to at some point. Interestingly, I’m familiar with the prominently-featured spokeswoman, Kaori Manabe.

She’s the host of a very popular podcast called Tokyo Local, which doesn’t have content of much consequence (it’s mostly listener surveys on questions-of-the-week), but ended up being good for Japanese listening practice. It wasn’t until later that I found out that she’s sort of an idol. She was always the Japanese face of Proactiv, an acne treatment, so it makes sense that she’s here. Not likely a devoted Christian, though….

I noticed this in a pharmacy last week, it absolutely stunned me. I snapped a phone photo and forgot about it, because my opinion of Japanese sensibilities has plummeted since arriving.

The only reason they haven’t made “Mohammed beard” hair-loss treatments is because Islam isn’t “Western”.

If I were an old priest, I’d have a heart attack. I don’t know, I feel like I’m losing energy just getting outraged by anything coming out of Japan. “Jesus Pills”? Come on, Japan! What’s next, a Jesus Robot?

…It doesn’t even look like Jesus. They can’t even blaspheme correctly.
